Welcome to my homepage! I am a professor in the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences (IIIS) @ Tsinghua University. I direct the Decision Intelligence Lab@IIIS. I received my Ph.D. from the EE department @ University of Southern California. I was then a postdoctoral researcher in the EECS department @ UC Berkeley. Prior to my Ph.D., I received my B.E. from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China, and my M.S. from Columbia University, New York City, both in EE. I have been a visiting professor at Bell-labs France, Microsoft Research Asia and CUHK, and a visiting scholar at the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) @ MIT. I was also a long-term visiting scientist at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing at Berkeley in Fall 2016. I serve/served on the editorial board for the TPAMI journal, the Elsevier PEVA journal, the IEEE/ACM ToN journal, the ACM ToMPECS journal, the IEEE TCOM journal, and the IEEE JSAC journal (guest editor). I am an ACM Distinguished Member, CCF Distinguished Member, IEEE Senior Member, an IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer and an ACM Distinguished Speaker. I received the Tsinghua University Distinguished Teaching Award (良师益友) in 2014, and received the ACM SIGMETRICS Rising Star Research Award in 2018. My research focuses on AI for Decisions (决策智能), with the objective of developing efficient, robust and safe AI theory and algorithms for decision making and optimization (see Decision Intelligence Lab page). Students & Postdoc (招生与博士后): I am constantly looking for highly motivated students (undergrad and graduate) and postdocs who are interested in the area of AI for Decisions (决策智能), including deep reinforcement learning, reinforcement learning theory, online learning, learning-augmented network optimization. Please email me if you are interested. Recent News
